"Best one yet!"

"Loved the speakers!"

On April 27th, these comments were often overheard as we celebrated our biggest client appreciation event of the year, McClelland University!

Annually, we honour our loyal clients by hosting them to a half day of entertainment, education and two flavourful meals. This year’s McClelland University was the first major event planned by our new Marketing Manager, Amber Mazurkiewicz. She did not disappoint. From the new design of the stage, to the additional buffet line, everyone’s experience was a great one.

Choosing the speakers is always a challenge as we attempt to appeal to a diverse group. Though, this year’s speakers offered enough variety that provided interest to all attendees.

Rob McClelland and Mike Connon opened McClelland University by summarizing the results of our latest client survey. In addition to that, they discussed the importance of Family Meetings. Mike outlined the process and benefits of having all relevant parties involved in this estate planning discussion.

Rob and Mike were followed by Christian Newton, of Dimensional Fund Advisors (“DFA”). Christian, a repeat speaker from last year, spoke of DFA’s investment philosophy, choosing to use metaphors that would appeal to people of all levels of investment knowledge and experience.

Erin Bury is a technology guru who outlined the latest trends in technology that is currently sweeping the world. The newest gadgets and services she focused on are bound to make everyone’s lives a little easier and wallets a little lighter.

Erin was followed by Jamie Cohen a graphotherapist and handwriting analysis expert. He is a sought-after keynote speaker and has had his TEDx talk viewed over 1 million times. To entertain the crowd, he even did a live analysis of Rob McClelland’s handwriting. In Rob’s own words, he was pretty spot on.

Our final speaker was widely known nutritionist, Julie Daniluk. Similar to Jamie, she has made many television appearances including a regular broadcast on the Oprah Network and the Social and is a bestselling author. Her easy going speaking style was a hit with the crowd, evidenced by the seemingly never-ending line of anxious autograph seekers.

Another McClelland University on the books, so to speak. We look forward to hosting the next.

Small but mighty is what you can call the beautiful nation of Djibouti located in Africa. You may want to plan your travels to Djibouti soon as it won’t be here forever; it is slowly separating as the tectonic plates are diverging in three. It is known for its luxurious beach resorts and sapphire seas where you can do all the same activities as those Caribbean all-inclusive’s but more!

9. CHINA

China is the world’s most populous country. With that name, it must provide travellers with BIG experiences and it does just that.
