TMFG hosted clients
for a morning of family fun
at Albion Orchards.
The fun began with a wonderful pastry breakfast prior to setting out on the quest to locate the best apples. The kids enjoyed the playground and especially the face painting and balloon maker.

To cap off the fun day, we were treated to a gourmet sandwich lunch where clients waited nervously for their numbers to be drawn for the apple pie raffle.
Everyone walked away with a bag of apples and a smile on their face.
Let’s do it again sometime.

Cryptocurrencies – Who are the major players?
If you aren’t already aware, Cryptocurrencies are currently enjoying a tremendous surge in value. Over the past 12 months, the combined value of all cryptocurrencies has increased over 1,400% (approx. value of all cryptocurrencies combined is $177B.).
What is a cryptocurrency? Most commonly defined as a digital/virtual currency using cryptography for security and not issued by a central authority (i.e. bank; government; etc.).
There are over 300 different digital currencies to date with market cap greater than $1M. However, there are 6 major cryptocurrencies that make up approx. 84% of the all cryptocurrencies. See attached infographic by Visual Capitalist for a comparison of the 6.

Patience
We have written many articles noting the number one component to financial success will be based on spending habits. It’s not what you make, it’s what you keep.
The next most important part to financial success is patience. In my 20 years as a financial professional, I have realized that “everything happens as it should but takes much longer than expected.” This statement is more prolific that you might think. It is much easier to tell you what is going to happen then when it is going to happen. The Dow Jones is now at about 22,000. My assertion is that at some point it will reach 100,000. This is not an implausible prediction and most financial professionals will agree – although, doomsday prognosticators exist and will most certainly dispute. The difficult thing is to tell you when. I would guess 20 to 30 years but that is a much bolder prediction that this, in fact, will occur.
When we go back in time, we see the same thing. In the 90’s, we knew that the dot-com bubble would come to an end, but it took so long. We knew in the mid 2000’s that US banks were getting overvalued but could not determine how long. Last year, I conducted a seminar about how GTA real estate was growing at a rate in excess of inflation and affordability. Yet for the next 6 months we saw the prices continue to skyrocket until this recent correction.
The smart investor embraces time as their friend, and not their enemy. If you are patient, time will make a smart investment strategy achieve all your goals. If you are not patient you will find there is no investment strategy that will keep you happy or bring you any closer to financial success.
